Hi there. I’m David Paul.
I have had the absolute privilege of being an award-winning wedding photographer for nearly twenty years and during that time have documented over five-hundred weddings in my unique photojournalist style. To me, it’s far more than just a job – it’s come to define my life and my creativity in so many glorious and often unexpected ways. I’ve worked at some of the region’s finest venues from the rural elegance of Bron Eifion in the wilds of Snowdonia to the majesty of Peckforton Castle in the heart of Cheshire; from the aristocratic grandeur of Thornton Manor on the Wirral to Clive of India’s Walcot Hall in the rolling Shropshire hills.
My objective at every wedding is to capture the emotional heart of the day and that of course means I’m far more interested in taking photos of people at play than anything else. Of course, I still photograph the Jimmy Choo shoes and the Vera Wang dress but my true love is something deeper; the solitary tear on the father of the bride’s cheek as he poignantly remembers a moment from her childhood during his speech. Or perhaps the mischievous ushers reminding the groom of something that happened on the stag. That to me is what great wedding photography is all about, telling the story of the people who are there and how they relate to the couple.
You’ll be glad to hear, I keep posed photographs to an absolute minimum to ensure you spend more time with the people that really matter; your loved ones. At most weddings, I cover the traditional friends and family photographs. However, this takes no more than half an hour and usually much less than that. Of course, you may not want anything formal at all and that suits me perfectly too.
If your preference is for a relaxed and unobtrusive photographer at the heart of your wedding celebration then please do get in touch. I’m always polite, calm and flexible in sometimes very emotional situations and can bring as much or as little organisation to your special day as you require. I am particularly attentive to your individual requirements and provide a level of service that is consistently excellent. I am there but not there, telling the story of your wedding day in a simple, elegant and unashamedly quirky manner.
